SOMETHING JUST DIED IN ME FOREVER…….

Terror strikes again that’s what almost all news channels and papers read ,loud and clear .But honestly why doesn’t it surprise me anymore, why don’t I feel scared ? why I have just failed to react to these headlines .
I guess people normally react in a certain way when they are confronted with a particular situation or scenario for the first time and they hope that their so called “reaction” would have an positive effect and even help in normalizing things soon enough but what does one did or how does one react when they are quiet literally “bomb arded” from all sides ,what with all the reassurances of security given continuously by our men in power, these long drawn debates held on the implementation of various laws or who is actually at fault (which quiet often just ends up in being yet another blame game wherein political parties use this as an excellent platform to bring out their personal prejudices ) or even the whole nation for that matter commending and applauding the so called Mumbai spirit (what Mumbai spirit I yet fail to understand ,when you have hungry mouths waiting to be fed ailing parents and bills to be paid do you have choice but just battle all odds and go to work, knowing very well that you just may not return and could very well be your last day but then only you know that you don’t have much of choice its more of question of choosing between the devil &the deep blue sea , but who is to understand your plight ? ) its all a dam farce , we have been through it before have lived through this ordeal and know very well that with tomorrow being yet another new day with even more interesting and happening news to feed on ,the so called “trauma” “plight” of the people so easily forgotten as though it never really happened .
Its only for people like us who have to continue fighting this battle all on our own ,I shudder to think that I could have been one of those dead out there that is the entire stretch that I use daily the same platform ,the very same cst-metro road ,colaba the paradise for collegians like us when it comes to flee market shopping its scary to just think what if I was there ……..
I just cannot stop going to these places, but things definitely would have changed for one I longer care a dam ,fail to react just about become numb as though some part of me dead forever and well carry my rosary around hoping that just in case I do fall prey to one of these attacks all I am hoping is that someone who does find my dead body does give me a decent burial .

if u start getting scared and cringe on seeing every second guy hefting a back pack you give victory to the terrorist. be aware and not scared. this is real life. people are there who want to destroy our nation and as citizens each and every one of us is a target for those cowards.
i can empathize with the shock that you are going through and the numbness. But the truth is will us all remember this a few days from now?
two or three terrorists have been captured, and when they will be brought to trial do you think they will be punished? look at afsal guru - he is still smiling in tihar jail!!! when crooks like him are not punished is there any deterrent for the terrorists? think of the uniformed forces who shed blood and sweat to apprehend these criminals hoping that they will be punished and what do they see? you know it is easier to kill them than capturing them alive!! what we need is a definite policy change.

gokul feeling of aniexty, pain, fear, fright all cease to exist which is why i say i feel numb , sacred .... that i doubt , scared of what are system that fails to protect us? scared to go out&just live my life or scared to just react ...there is no fright we have all been through that fight before now all we are is plain numb coz we have giving up to reacting, for we all know tmrw yet another day after all where is the time to be scared huh?? in a city like ours where each day is a constant struggle its really hard to be scared or shocked you just wont survive we have learnt to move on by just numbing our souls &senses whic to a lot maybe seen as the ultimate death of the humane side but who cares coz after all its only we the people of this city knw that ours is struggle that ceases to end ,the only way we chose to fight that is this way for those who don't agree and call us cowards suit yourselves ,coz u really dont know what it feels like to leave home not knowing whether it the last time you going to see your loved ones ,you have no way out who do you go to ?? who do you complain or fight against when you urself arent sure of who is the greater enemy the state that fails to protect ,the polticans fail to keep their promise or well those "terrorists" who do you fight against ,do you go to court and file petitions? do you beg for more security how is that gona happen and most importantly at the end of the day is that honsetly possible ,where do you go then ? all you can think of just praying and keeping that firm faith alive and contiuing going to work just as usual . no one denies the sacrifice those great men laid out for us but honsetly has anyone learnt a lesson?? that i doubt maybe maximum a week things will be alright then its back to square one thats wherein my dear frnd we the good old citizens just learn to live with it by just being numb .

it is true, a sense of security is lost. but we are indeed helpless as long as our govt is apathetic. do the people have the power to effect policy or political change? no. democracy is exactly what it means demo- crazy. also hypocritical. let us just pray that the next terrorist act is against some top politicians and they become successful as only then will they firm up.
